Z -- GROUNDWATER TREATMENT EXTRACTING WELLS Contact: David Dale, Sr. Contracts Specialist, 516-344-3199. This contract will be set aside for bidding by small businesses only. SIC code 1781 applies. Work consists of supply, installation, startup, testing, and initial operation of groundwater extraction wells. Work will include drilling and installing a new 450 gpm well with submersible pump, concrete vault and controls. A submersible pump, vault and controls will also be provided for an existing 250 gpm well. The groundwater treatment equipment is being provided under a separate contract. The Contractor will be required to return to the site at a later date to provide initial operations of the wells in cooperation with the contractor furnishing the treatment equipment. All work will be awarded on a single contract. Estimated construction cost is $100,000 to $150,000. Estimated construction time is 12 weeks. A 20% bid bond is required. Payment and performance bonds are required after contract award. Brookhaven is charging a non-refundable fee of $20 for bid documents. Personal checks made out to ``Brookhaven National Laboratory'' are acceptable. Checks may be sent immediately and bid packages will be mailed upon availability.
