The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a solicitation for the construction or conversion and delivery of two (2) YDT Diving Tenders (YDT 17 and 18). This solicitation will be a 100% small business set-aside and will be conducted in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12. Delivery of YDTs 17 and 18 will be required within 15 months and 17 months after contract award, respectively. Delivery shall be made to Navy Diving and Salvage Training Center, Panama City, FL. Performance and payment bonds will be required. Technical Proposals will be required. Award will be based on best value. The solicitation will contain a performance specification. Some of the requirements are as follows: ABS classed, steel or aluminum length, 30.5 meters to 41 meters, beam 8-10 meters, fully load draft 1.8 meters, 15-20K cruising speed, 1000km range, twin screw or equivalent, twin diesels, Bow thruster and two point mooring system. There will also be some installation of Government Furnished Material. The solicitation will be posted on the NAVSEA Contracts World Wide Web home page in May 1996 at the following address: http://sea02www.navsea.navy.mil/. The subject solicitation package can be located by its solicitation number and downloaded. A limited number of hard copies will be available on a first come, first served basis at NAVSEA Industry Liaison Office, Room 5E40, 2531 Jefferson Davis Highway, Arlington, VA, at the same time that the solicitation is posted on the World Wide Web.
