58 -- NATIONWIDE CELLULAR AIRTIME AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES SOL SSA-RFP-96-2629 POC Leslie Hyman Tel: (410) 965-9476 FAX: 965-9560 The Social Security Administration requires Nationwide Cellular Airtime, Cellular Telephone Maintenance Service, Cellular Telephones and Accessories for use by SSA personnel. SSA requires 24-hour cellular airtime for Government-owned cellular telephones. The service shall have local calling capabilities that will cover SSA Headquarters' offices located inBaltimore and Washington, D.C. as well as the surrounding Maryland and Virginia counties. In addition, SSA requires nationwide airtime coverage for the continental United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Mexico. SSA also requires maintenance service for government-owned cellular telephones, the types of telephones include, but not limited to the Motorola Micro-Tac, Motorola Micro-Tac PT500, Motorola Special Edition, Motorola Special Edition II, Motorola Micro 4000 and Novatel. Maintenance service must also include reprogramming and replacement of cellular telephones which are damaged. Replacement telephones must be of equal or greater value than the damaged telephone. Contractor must provide cellular accessories such as portable nickel metal hydride batteries which allow up to 100 minutes of continuous talk time or 20 hours of standby time, cigarette lighter adapters and carrying cases. Contractor must provide on- site training and support, at headquarters, in the operation of the cellular telephones and other cellular-related services. SSA plans to award a Fixed Price Indefinite Quantity Contract. The contract will have one base year with four option years. Offerors may be required to perform an Operational Capability Demonstration to verify cellular performance. Requests for the subject RFP shall be sent to the above address. FAX'd requests will be accepted. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. SSA anticipates the release of the RFP on or about 05/02/96. (0102)
