10 -- MINIATURIZED 40MM GRENADE LAUNCHER Due 060396. Contact Linda White, Contract Specialist, 410-278-2998. The R&D Support Division, Directorate of Contracting, U.S. Army Garrison, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland, is seeking to identify potential sources who can provide an NDI solution to a miniaturized 40mm grenade launcher which is compatible with the present family of 40mm ammunition. A stand-alone weapon is desired, i.e. does not attach to other weapons as does the M203. Weapon may use an M-4 carbine lower receiver for the stock and firing mechanism. Light weight and small size are paramount considerations. Interested firms may communicate their interest, in writing,to the contract specialist. The communication must fully document the firm's current capability to respond to a requirement of this type, including specifications of their product, pictures, drawings and any commercial/marketing material available. The proposed requirement is not intended to lead into a development project; therefore, only those firms who have already produced a weapon of this type need reply. This is not a request for proposals. No solicitation exists; however, all responses received within 45 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be reviewed by the Government to determine what firms in the marketplace currently have this capability. The final determination, based on the information provided, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
