16 -- MODULAR INTEGRATED AVIONICS GROUP (MIAG) INTEGRATION W/PIONEER UAV POC Contact, Richard Fraser, Phone (703)604-0903 The Naval Air Systems Command intends to award a contract to Pioneer UAV Inc. (PUI) of Hunt Valley, MD for the acquisition and integration of one Modular Integrated Avionics Group (MIAG) into the Pioneer Air Vehichle. The MIAG is a highly integrated UAV flight avionics package that contains GPS, digital CPA and an inertial measurement unit which has the capability to control the air vehicles flight and engine operations, navigation, guidance, and payload operations. The MIAG will increase mission readiness, improve sustainability, improve data throughput, mission flexibility and allow for extensive payload enhancements. The Government has projected an eight (8) month integration effort for the MIAG into the Pioneer Air Vehicle for the purpose of conducting flight demonstrations to assess the MIAG's operational capabilities. PUI is the sole source producer of the Pioneer UAV system and is the only source which possesses the capability to provide the required interface information.
