The objective are to devellop new strategies utilizing advanced manufacturing and inventory management techniques to improve the ability of the industrial base to respond to increased customer demands and to effectively reduce the overall COST to the Government to ensure the availability of, and accessto, sufficient quantities of planned defense items. This announcement also seeks electronic solutions to achieve a paperless purchasing, inventory management and distribution process for planned producer defense. The sustainment program covers medical plannef producer items and items needed for Personnel support and Military-uniquemedical items needed to support deployed troops. The program focuses on two Main areas: Electornic Commerce and the concept paper itself.
