operation of the Hawaii Job Corps Center will be available on April 30,
1996 for issue in response to written requests. The main center is
located in Waimanalo, Hawaii, on the island of Oahu, with satellite
operations at Maui and Kwajalein. It is anticipated that the resultant
contract will cover the period February 1, 1997 through January 31,
1999, plus three renewal options of one year each. The contract
capacity is 362 students: 156 residential males, 136 residential
females, 30 non-residential males and 40 non-residential female. The
successful offeror is to be selected using the following evaluation
criteria: Academic Education, Vocational Training, Student Support,
Health Services, Social Development, Administration, Financial
Management, Past Performance, Staff Qualifications, Outreach/Admissions
and Placement, Subcontracting Plan, Cost and Transition/Phase Out. A
Pre-Proposal Conference will be convened on May 14, 1996 in the
Administration Building Conference Room at 2 p.m. There will be a tour
of the main center on May 14, 1996 at 9:30 am (local time). The
address is 41-467 Hihimanu Street, Waimanalo, Hawaii. Conference
attendees will be provided a tour of the Maui site at 1 p.m. on May 15,
1996. Interested offerors should limit their attendance to not more
than two persons. Proposals in response to RFP #IX-96-57 will be due
July 22, 1996. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which
shall be considered by the US Department of Labor. The Job Corps Center
is a residential training program for economically disadvantaged youth,
between ages 16-24. Contractor will be expected to manage and operate
a government-owned facility and hire staff for Residential Living,
Basic Education, Vocational Training, and provision of health services.
All activities will be in compliance with applicable DOL/Job Corps
