W -- DESKTOP COMPUTER SYSTEM LEASE Contact Mr. Mark deVisser. Lockheed Martin Idaho Technologies (LMIT), P.O. Box 1625, Idaho Falls, ID 83415-3521; a management and operating contractor for the Department of Energy (DOE) at the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory (INEL) is exploring the possibilities of leasing desktop computer systems. The lease will include hardware and software components, as well as the service and support over the lease agreement period. LMIT is inquiring about the leasing of the systems and software with support, as well as extended warranty issues. Most manufactures offer a 1 year parts and service with a 3 year parts warranty. LMIT would like the extended portion of the warranty included in the leasing agreement. This information will be based around a 3 year leasing agreement (not a lease to buy). Initial minimum requirements for leasing include the following: (Hardware) Pentium 100 MHz, 16MRAM, 1 G Hard Drive, 2 MB Video RAM, 4X CD-ROM, 17'' SVGA Monitor .26 pitch 1280 X 1024 resolution, Ethernet 3COM combo card, Mouse & Pad, 3.5'' 1.44 Mb floppy drive, sound card with speakers. (Software) Microsoft Windows 95 (80% of systems), Microsoft Office Suite Professional and Standard, Microsoft Windows NT (20% of systems) Lotus Notes, Chameleon. All software includes maintenance. Estimated pricing provided to LMIT will be used for fiscal year 1997 budgeting in preparation for leasing opportunities. Please estimate pricing to provide service, support, install, and maintain standard desktop computer systems per the stated minimum requirements. Pricing should include transferring software and data to and from systems. Please estimate two scenarios, 1) LMIT supplies license and maintenance for software, 2) Vendor supplies license and maintenance for software. Estimate about 1,200 - 1,500 systems per year.
