214/819-7236. The New First Colony Station is a 31,240 square foot
postal facility. Building shell construction includes: face brick and
split face exterior insulation finish system. The structural system is
steel frame with steel joists, with painted metal deck, 18 gauge metal
studs and sheathing at the exterior. Foundations include drilled
footings, concrete slab-reinforced and carton forms under grade beams.
The roofing system is a modified bitumen roof with R-30 roof
insulation and the front entry includes mission clay tile roofing.
Glazing includes fixed and store front entrances with anodized aluminum
finish (medium bronze) with insulated glass glazing. Provided is a
receiving dock (50'' x 27:) with mechanical dock levelers, hydraulic
scissors lift, covered canopy with modified bitumen roof. Canopies for
the carrier dock are steel frame with metal deck and gutter system.
Building interior in the public area includes Postal Store, Rent-A-Box
Lobby, Full Service Counter, carpet and porcelain tile floor finish,
suspended acoustical ceiling, decorative sliding security gate and
aluminum roll down door, painted gypsum board partition and Postal
signage requirements. The site includes concrete paving, site lighting,
ornamental iron and vinyl coated chain link and masonry/concrete
fencing, landscape and irrigation system, storm water drainage system,
public utility connection, directional signage and flagpole. The site
is located on Grants Lake Boulevard in Sugarland approximately 400
feet north of the intersection with Austin Parkway. Estimated cost
range $2,400,000 - $2,550,000 and construction time is 365 calendar
days. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for
Small and Minority-Owned and Woman-Owned Business initially and
thereafter with their progress payment requests. The contractor must
subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not
less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. A 20% proposal
bond is required on all proposals. The successful contractor will be
required to provide 100% Performance and 50% Payment Bonds. Offers will
be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 pm on May
16, 1996. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be
available on April 16, 1996 at a cost of $100.00 per set
(NON-REFUNDABLE) payable by check or money order only. Requests for

publicly opened. The number of offers received, the identity of the
offerors, the amount of any one offer, or relative standing of offeror
will not be disclosed to anyone until after award of a contract is
