Contract Specialist at (404)842-6786 The Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC) contemplates awarding a task order contract to
perform prevention effectiveness assessments. The contemplated contract
will be used by a variety of organizations, within the CDC, and will be
managed under the direction of the Epidemiology Program Office (EPO)
which coordinates and provides leadership to CDC officials on
prevention effectiveness activities. Prevention effectiveness
assessments will typically target certain high priority issues which
are likely to influence legislative, regulatory, and long-range
planning at CDC. The studies will focus on the economicimpact,
including cost-benefit/cost-effectiveness/cost utility/decision
analysis of program and/or policy strategies, or the estimates of the
cost of specific health problems or programs. The information generated
from these analyses will contribute directly to emerging policy
decisions, allocation of resources, and support for major
administrative initiatives. These studies should provide a framework
for decision-making based on relevant program component contributions
to program outcomes. The scheduled issue date is approximately May 2,
1996. No telephone requests will be accepted; only written requests for
this solicitation will be honored. Requests should cite RFP No.
