Harrison, (513)267-3994 Furnish Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to provide Hand Surgical Services in a clinic at a minimum of one half day (4 hours) per week or until all scheduled patients are seen and evaluated. All patients will be examined at the Dayton VA Medical Center that have been scheduled in the Hand Surgery Clinic for both normal and emergency care. Perform routine treatment and diagnostic procedures of all and any hand surgical disorders. Perform any hand surgical procedures as generated from the clinic or inpatient population as determined to be necessary. This includes emergency procedures. The physician shall determine if any patients require admission to the hospital and in addition, if consultation is necessary for the care of the patient. The Hand Surgeon shall receive calls and/or communication from regular full-time, part-time and consulting physicians as well as from surgical residents regarding patients to be seen in the clinic and/or those patients scheduled for a surgical procedure. The Hand Surgeon shall take emergency calls for urgent or emergency consultation or surgery and a call schedule published and with methods outlined of being able to be reached. The Hand Surgeon shall be responsible to determine if a patient requires consultation or transfer to another facility if deemed necessary. Surgeons must meet the credentialing and privilege requirements of this medical center. The contract base period is for one year, with the option to extend 2 years.
