Johanna T. Hersch, (908) 427- 6093. This is a Sole Source Acquisition
to Hughes Danbury Optical Systems, Inc., Danbury, CT for engineering
services and supplies for both U.S. Army and U.S. Navy air and ground
combat platforms in support of the AN/AVR-2 family of Laser Detecting
Sets and the TS-4321A/AVR-2 family of Laser Detecting Test Sets. The
contractor shall provide field service support, reprogramming support,
repair of systems and prototype systems, engineering studies,
documentation support and direct assistance in the testing and fielding
of the AN/AVR-2 family of Laser Detecting Test Sets on an ''On-Call''
basis. The contractor will also be required to participate in technical
interchange meetings. All of the above services will be required both
CONUS and OCONUS. A level III drawing package is not available for this
system because of recent engineering changes. This contractor is the
only source with the requisite background able to provide the
Government's requirements, i.e., compatibility with the MILES/AGES II
training system; a removable, reprogrammable User Data Module; greater
sensitivity and enhanced threat proocessing capabilities, demonstrated
experience in the design, development, manufacture, installation and
testing of laser warning receivers. Installation and testing experience
including U.S. Army and U.S. Navy air and ground combat platforms. A
minimum security clearance level of SECRET will be required to all
bidders or offerors. Plans or drawings relating to the procurement
described are not available and connot be furnished by the Government
