(510) 423-9434 The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL),
operated by the University of California for the Department of Energy
(DOE), is seeking information about companies which have the capability
to provide one S-band amplifier for an airborne synthetic aperture
radar (SAR) system. No solicitation document is available at this time;
this is only a sources-sought announcement. The S-band amplifier must
operate with minimum phase noise in our coherent radar system, provide
approximately 8kW of peak power at a 2 % duty cycle, and provide an
instantaneous bandwidth of 100MHz. The amplifier will be mounted in a
jet aircraft within a pressurized cabin which maintains 8,000 ft. of
pressurization. Interested firms should respond by May 9, 1996 with a
written statement of capabilities. Do not provide costing information
in your submittal. This notice is for information and planning purposes
