UPDATE: The U.S. Marine Corps previously announced a requirement for twenty-five (25) Fiber Optic Interface Cables in the Commerce Business Daily during the week of 08 April 1996. This announcement stated that each cable must be fifteen (15) meters in length and be made up of six (6) fibers (85/125um). It further stated that one end of each cable must have a connector compatible with the Hughes six (6) channel hermaphroditic connector (Part No. 4569811-3H) or equivalent, and the other end must have a connector compatible with a six (6) fiber standard commercial ST connector. This requirement has not changed, but this acquisition is now being 100% set-aside for small business. The applicable SIC code is 3357, and the small business size threshold is less than 1,000 employees. Accordingly, only small businesses meeting these requirements may be considered for award.
