In support of the Instrumentation Engineering Section, NASA/GSFC intends to enter into a sole source purchase order to DSPACE Corporation of South Field, MI. This acquisition 5-71892/985 is for (1) DS1003-768, TMS320C40 50 MHZ DSP controller board with 768K of memory; (2) DS2003, 16 bit resolution 32 channel, simultaneous sample and hold, analog to digital converter board; (3) DS2102, 16 bit resolution, 6 channel digital to analog converter board (two each); (4) TDE package 40, development tools package for the DS1003 controller board containing; the RT140, cockpit40W, trace 40W, mtrace40 and mlib real interface tools; (5) clib host DSP C interface libraries; (6) PC compatible, C cross compiler, assembler and linker for the DSP controller; (7) PHS-CAB6, PHS-BUS cable for 6 boards and terinators; (8) CP2003, connector panel for DS2003; (9) CP2102, connector panel for DS2102 (two each); and (10) Cpdesk, desk mount for breakout box. The DSPACE SYSTEM is the only product this is capable of controlling devices that have a maximum of 32 sensor outputs and 16 actuator inputs with a resolution of 16 bits and using a sampling rate of 10KHZ. Also, the system is capable of being externally synchronized, provides buffering for the storage of the samples without the intervention of the DSP and provides reconfiguring the sequence and resolution of the various channels. In addition, the system uses the graphical interface of the Mathwork's simulink and C code generator software for programming the controller.
