Project consists of furnishing all material, equipment, and labor to upgrade ten (10) dormitories. Generally the work is to: a) Perform demolition of various portions of the buildings as scheduled to permit installation of new materials and construction; b) Construct additions to existing buildings to consist of foundations, block walls, wood trusses, and metal roofing; c) Install new electrical system throughout buildings to include conduits, wiring, and fire alarm systems; d) Install new mechanical systems to include plumbing for new bathrooms and HVAC systems; e) Install new floor coverings to include vinyl tile and ceramic tile; f) Painting of buildings both inside and outside is required; g) CONSTRUCTION WILL HAVE TO BE PHASED SO THAT ONLY TWO BUILDINGS ARE UNUSABLE AT ANY ONE TIME. The period of performance is 500 calendar days. The estimated magnitude of construction is $1,000,000 to $5,000,000. A Firm Fixed-Price Contract is anticipated. SIC Code 1542 has been assigned. All request shall include their assigned Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) on their requesting letter. Bid Packages to include plans, specifications and solicitation will be available on or about May 14, 1996, to PRIME CONTRACTORS ONLY and MUST BE IN WRITING ONLY. Plans and Specifications will be available on a first come, first serve basis until supplies are exhausted. Plans will be available in various Plan Rooms (i.e., FW Dodge, Construction Bulletin, Builders Exchange, etc.) throughout Georgia on approximately May 14, 1996.
