The Decoy Flares will beprocured on a sole-source basis from Thiokol Corp, Brigham City, UT. A verbal Request for Quote will bemade only to Thiokol because Thiokol's Spectrally Balanced Decoy Flares were tested on October 1995 byGovernment evaluators and determined to be the most effective when used in combination with AlliantTechsystems Aerodynamic Flares, and the Decoy manufactured by Thiokol Corp. is proprietary to Thiokol. Note22 applies. This will be a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order. A formal RFQ will not be prepared; rather,verbal quote will be solicited from Thiokol under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Delivery will berequired within 90 days of Purchase Order award. The shipping terms will be F.O.B. Destination withinspection and acceptance at destination (0109)
