724-2765. The Product Manager, Mortar Systems is requesting information
on low cost, small and accurate inertial measurement units, typically
refered to as microelectromechanical systems (MEMS). Information
required includes size and weight, power requirements, shock
survivability (in Gs), and typical or projected unit production costs
conforming to the following schedule: 50 per year, 100 per year, 150
per year, 200 per year, 300 per year, for at least four (4) consecutive
years. The device shall have a pointing accuracy of three (3) miles or
better. Similar information on less accurate pointing devices is also
requested. Information received will be primarily in support of the
Mortar Fire Control System program, with a secondary interest in guided
mortar ammunition. No solicitation exists for this synopsis and the
Government shall incur no obligation to directly or indirectly
reimburse a respondent for the effort expended or incurred in response
