The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to award a Firm Fixed Price contract for the following equipment: (1) File Disk Server System including Continuous Data Service Fault Isolation Software. The following Salient Characteristics of the File Disk Server system are hereby provided: (1) Host Processor - SPARC 90MHz CPU with 32MB Memory expandable to 384 MB, 3 SBus Slots, 1 SCSI-2, 2 RS-232 ports. Optional 155Mb/sec ATM SBus adapter supporting SC fiber connection. SPARC binary compatibility and at least 55 SPECint 92 CPU performance. Plug compatible with an AUSPEX host system 55MB/ sec, 14-slot VME Backplane. (2)Continuous Data Service Fault Isolation Software - Software would prevent host processor interruptions from affecting the operation of providing NFS service to client systems. Provide ability to reboot the host processor without disruption of NFS service to client systems. Isolation of disk failures and file system problems, providing full recovery with minimal impact to client systems. Must be able to perform automated file system check (fsck) and return to on-line status without operator intervention. Must be able to maintain NFS data delivery to clients during a UNIX failure and reboot. Software must eliminate file server downtime caused by UNIX instability an/ or host processor reboots. (3) Network Processor - Dual HyperSPARC 55Mhz CPUs with 128MB memory expandable to 256MB Network interfaces for 2 FDDI/SAS/DAS-fiber or MLT3 TP ECC memory protection. Support the 4.3 BSD file system. Plug compatible with an AUSPEX host system 55MB/sec 14-slot VME backplane. Ability to execute the above continuous data service fault isolation software.
