Merson, (301) 713-0839 The U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA intends to procure software support for the GOES-I/M Sounding System. This software support contract is for one year with six option years. The successful offeror will perform post launch validation of the GOES-I/M sounding products, the development, implementation and science support for additional capabilities for sounding products obtained from the GOES-I/M series satellites. The required science support and improvement activities will include the following: 1) Real-time science software support and corrective action for the GOES-I/M sounding system for anomalous conditions, scientific data processing problems and instrument/channel malfunctions; and 2) Science software support to NESDIS personnel for configuring the GOES-I/M sounding system in preparation for the launch of new GOES-I/M series spacecraft. Science improvement activities will consist of the development, testing and implementation of new science algorithms, approved by NESDIS personnel, into the operational GOES-I/M sounding system.
