Workers' Compensation Programs has a requirement for delivery of
medical second opinion services for claimants under the FECA who are
served by the district office in San Francisco, CA. An indefinite
quantity/indefinite delivery type of contract, on a firm fixed unit
price basis is contemplated. Up to four contract awards for geographic
area are contemplated. Medical evaluation may be necessary to (1)
determine the causal relationship between work factors and the injury
or disease; (2) assess the extent and duration of the physical
impairment or disability; (3) determine the appropriateness of therapy,
including some surgical procedures; or (4) determine when recovery has
occurred and a return to work is feasible. The contractor shall
arrange for qualified and appropriate medical specialists to make these
services available within reasonable commuting distance of the
claimants in Region IX, which includes the States of Arizona,
California, Hawaii, and Nevada and the Territory of Guam. Interested
