66 -- SPECIAL OPEN SEASON FOR NEW TECHNOLOGIES: SOL FCGS-Y8-94-0040-1-N DUE 062596 POC Michael balzer (703) 305-6011 or Vera Greene (703) 305-6631 This ''special open Season'' for Solicitation FCGS-Y8-94-0040-1-N invites you to offer products under the new Technologies special item number (603-1004) which has been added to the group 66, part II, section C Federal supplyschedule. This will be an open-continuous (Evergreen) special item number. Offers may be submitted at anytime. This requirement will be synopsizedannually. The definition of the new Technologies special item number (SIN) is a new product or an upgraded product (as to be virtually a new product) made available to the Commercial or Government marketplace. This product must meet the special provisions as outlined below. Offers for new technology items will be considered only under the following conditions:(a) the offeror must be capable of demonstrating that the product meets at lease one of the following three conditions which provide a product that is not otherwise available to the Government: (1) performs a new task or procedure not currently offered under any GSA contract; (2) performs an Old task or procedure in a new way which technically exceeds current products; and (3) improves an existing product so significantly that Government customers will be negativelyimpacted if the item is not added to the schedule.(B) the product must be classifiable in a Federal supply class identified in the Federal supply schedule.(C) as determined by the Government, there are NO similar items currently available under an existing SIN or pending competitive acquisition.(D) the product could be included in an existing SIN or has the potential for inclusion within the schedule with a new SIN. Offerors must understand that ther is NO implied guarantee that the product offered will be recognized and accepted as new technology. All items will be reviewed for acceptance by the Government'S technical experts. The new Technologies SIN is intended for the temporary placement of products until the item can be formally placed under an existing or newly created SIN. Offerors/contractors understand that the item can be formally placed on an existing or newly created SIN on the schedule. Offerors/contractors understand that the item must be offered under the appropriate SIN during the next regular open Season/basic Solicitation or It will be cancelled. It is theofferors/contractors responsibility to be award of the open Season/basicsolicitation issuance. New SINS established for new technology items must meet established sales criteria or the SIN will be canceled. All other terms and conditions of current contracts still apply.(0113)
