FINLAND: RADIO EQUIPMENT SUBJECT TO LICENCE AND USED IN LAND MOBILE RADIO NETWORKS The following notification is being circulated in accordance with Article 10.6. G/TBT/Notif. 96.73. 1. ICS numbers may be provided in addition, where applicable): This Regulation shall apply to base stations of dedicated radio networks and portable or vehicle mounted mobile radio telephones to be used in dedicated networks, base stations of ARP, Autonet NMT-450 and NMT-900 of public mobile telephone networks and repeaters used in connection with these, base stations of public paging system ERMES and national POCSAG. telecommand and telemetry equipment, data transmission equipment, on-site paging equipment and wireless microphone systems for the use of which an individual licence is needed. 5. Title, number of pages and language(s) of the notified document: Regulation on Type Approval Requirements for Radio Equipment Subject to Licence and Used in Land Mobile Radio Networks (available in English, 9 pages). 6. Description of content: This draft Regulation is an up-dated version of TAC 16A/94M. Its scope covers all radio equipment in the land mobile service for the use of which an individual licence is required. The amendments done now in this Regulation mean the full implementation of the ERC Decision of 1 December 1995 on the adoption of national regulations for equipment to be used in the land mobile service using angle modulation based on the European Telecommunications Standard (ETS) 300 086 (ERC/DEC(95)02) in Finland. The main change as compared to the previous version is the removal of requirements on quality of speech transmission for equipment intended for networks with connection to the PSTN (old ANNEX II to CEPT Rec. T/R 24-01). References to standards have also been updated to correspond to the latest development in ETSI. The requirements for active repeaters have been slightly modified to take into account the use of mobile repeaters. (The Regulation contains a mutual recognition clause for test reports from other countries.) 7. Objective and rationale: The aim of this Regulation is the efficient use of the radio-frequency spectrum. 8.
