(212) 668-3374. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary for
the Drydock Repairs to the USCGC BUCKTHORN. Work for these Drydock
repairs is to be performed at the Contractor's Facility. The work which
may be performed includes but may not be limited to the following
minimum items: 1. Modify Ship Service Diesel Generator's Grid Coolers
Recesses and renew Grid Coolers. 2. Preserve Spudwell and renew
Spudwell Liners. 3. Clean and Test Grid Coolers. 4. Preserve the
Transducer Hull Rings and renew the Depth indicating Transducer. 5.
Overhaul, renew, and Test Valves. 6. Install Waste Oil Tank Discharge
Pump and Piping. 7. Inspect, Overhaul and Test Appleton Aton Crane. 8.
Renew Boat Davit Arms and Test Boat Davit Assembly. 9. Overhaul
Hydraulic Deck Winches and Spud Winch. 10. Test Pad Eyes and Links. 11.
Remove and Dispose of Diesel Fuel (1,200 gallons) 12. Clean and Inspect
Diesel Fuel Tank. 13. Provide New Diesel Fuel (1,200 gallons). 14.
Non-Destructive Coating Thickness Measurements. 15. Renew Deck
Covering. 16. Provide Temporary Messing. 17. Provide Temporary
Logistics. 20. Routine Drydocking Indefinite Items: 1. Welding Repairs.
2. Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propeller Shaft. 3. Straighten Shaft.
4. Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft Bearings. 5. Renew Shaft Sleeves. 6.
Remove, Inspect and Reinstall Propellers. 7. Minor repair and
Recondition Propeller. 8. Overhaul, Renew, and Test Valves. 9. Remove,
Inspect and Reinstall Rudder Stock Assemblies 10. Clean and Inspect
Fuel Tank. 11. Preserve Underwater Body. 12. Renew Corrosion Preventive
Zinc Anodes. 13. Provide Temporary Messing. 14. Ultrasonic Testing. 15.
Provide Temporary Logistics. *Vessel is Geographically Restricted to
the waters of the Great Lake. There will be a non-refundable charge
required in the form of a certified check or money order made payable
to the US Coast Guard in the amount of $100.00 for requested drawings
and publications. The proposed contract listed here is open to both
large and small businesses. Plans and specifications will be issued on
or after 01 May 1995. All responsible sources may submit a bid which
shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. For Minority,

Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business
Utilization has programs to assist minority, women-owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms
to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $500,000 per
contract. DOT provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a
