J -- INSPECT AND ASSEMBLE DEMOUNTABLE NOISE SUPPRESSOR POC Barbara Mills tel: 210/652-5047/William R. Lichte CNT F41691-96-Q1084 Inspect and assemble demountable Noise Suppressor Aircraft Ground Runup (Model A/F 32A-18). Inspect subject noise suppressor and ensure an operations checkout of all mechanical and electrical equipment. Structural repair will be required when major weld failures or cracks are detected. Major failures of components are defined as a crack through the weld greater than 25 percent of the weld length. Cracks of any size of the augmenter and exhaust deflector are considered major and require repair. Welding is conducted in accordance with American Welding Society (AWS) standards. When using these standards, sufficient failed material and/or weld must be removed and rewelded to ensure 100 percent of original design efficiency as to size and strength. Use AWS specified welding rod for the specific material to be welded. Failed system components will be repaired in accordance with T.O. 33D4-6-442-4. If repair cannot be accomplished, the component must be marked on the checklist to be replaced and ordered through the Air Force supply system. Those items found defective during inspection, which are beyond economical repair, will be replaced. These items will be marked on the checklist and ordered accordingly. Suppressor will be assembled on the North end of the West ramp, approximately 150 feet north of building 82, on existing concrete. The stack will be to the North. Assembly consists of new site preparation, anchor layout and installation, installation of system components, and installation of loose components. Technical requirements apply for reassembly of the noise suppressor which will be available upon request. Requirement will be awarded under simplified purchase procedures. Anticipated award date is 20 May 1996 and requirement must be completed within 15 days after award. This is set aside for small businesses. (0113)
