There is known hazardous material in this project. The existing lines are insulated with asbestos. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business; SIC Code is 1629; Size Standard is $17 million. Contractor is required to have been in the sprinkler installation business for a minimum of three years and will be requested to provide documentation showing that they have installed the same or a similar system within the past three years. References will be required for same. The contract resulting from this acquisition will be awarded to that responsible bidder whose bid, conforming to the invitation, will be most advantageous to the Government, considering only price and price-related factors. The price is estimated to be under $100,000.00. It is intended to award a Firm Fixed-Price contract. For Minority, Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises: The Department of Transportation (DOT) Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU), has programs to assist minority, women-owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible prime or subcontrat at any tier. The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1.0 million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against losses. Loans are also available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.00.
