R -- TIMBER APPRAISAL SERVICE SOL DACW29-96-R-0020 DUE 061496 POC Charles Zammit, Contract Specialist (504) 862-1164 The U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans has a requirement for the appraisal of approximately 100,000 acres of timbered property located in the Atchafalaya Basin Floodway, Louisiana. The Corps intends to award two (2) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity, task order contracts as a result of this solicitation. The successful contractor will have at a minimum: a bachelor degree in Forestry, experience in timber valuations involving judgement in the analysis of market data such as statistical analysis of inventory data and knowledge of timber markets in order to make accurate estimates of timber value, experience in the appraisal of bottomland hardwood timber, previous court experience as an expert witness and the approval of the local U.S Attorney, production capability of at least 5,000 acres per month, and affiliation with at least one professional organization.
