This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation: Proposals are being requested and a written soliciation will not be issued. Solicitation 607-11-96 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for this acquisition is 3589. The small business size standard is 500 employees. Contractor shall provide and install one Glassware Washer. The machine to be provided shall meet all of the following requirements: Minimum 180 degrees fahrenheit wash temperature. Wash, rinse, and deionized water rinse cycles controllable by users. Steam preheating of wash water. Stainless steel interior and front. Recessed installation. No wider than existing washer (45 inches). Maximum height of 79 inches (with door open or closed). Through-the-spindle washing and rinsing for washing interior of glassware. At least 1000 square inches of basket capacity. If machine has multi-level washing capability, upper level racks must be readily removable without the use of tools (to accomodate tall glassware). An assortment of through-the-spindle washing/racks must be included. Baskets for a wide variety of glassware types and sizes must be available. A minimum of 1 basic basket, 1 basket with spray arm, 8 tube baskets (various sizes w/lids), 3 injection through-the-spindle racks with lids shall be included and itemized in the quote. All baskets must be removable as one unit (i.e. assorted tube baskets shall set in a host tray that is removable thus allowing the complete removal of that level). Automatic dispensing of cleaning agent. Machine must be serviceable by local firms and parts must be quickly available (within 24 hours). Minor repairs shall be performed by in house maintenance staff after warranty. Machine shall have a minimum 1 year warranty. This washer is necessary for sterile lab glassware. Installation of this machine is related to Soliciation 607-10-96 for a sterilizer. These two pieces of equipment shall be installed adjacent to each other and shall be installed at the same time therefore reducing our down time. All logistics for installation shall be discussed after award. Offerors are invited to inspect the premisis prior to submitting a quote. Period for acceptance of offers is 90 days. The government reserves the right to accept offers without discussion.
