The specification defines requirements for a long-pulsed laser to provide high-power visible light. The system shall operate at reduced optical power for alignment. The laser system shall be externally triggerable for synchronization with experiments. The light from the laser shall be transportable by low numerical-aperture fiber. The product of beam size and divergence, measured at a lens waist, shall be less than four times that of a diffraction limited beam. The laser shall be operable at 50 and 80 microseconds pulsewidths for both single pulses and for one pulse per second. Power level and optical adjustments may be required to switch between the two pulsewidths. (113)
