Z -- PRESOLICITATION - HANGAR AF WHARF REPAIR, CAPE CANAVERAL AIR FORCE STATION SOL RFO 10-96-0024 DUE 060596 POC Shelly Whittaker, Contracting Officer, OP-ESO-A, 407-867-7230. The work to be performed under this project consists of providing the labor, equipment, and materials to repair the Solid Rocket Booster Recovery Wharf adjacent to Hangar AF at CCAFS, FL. The project includes, but is not limited to, repair of approx. 500 linear feet of the slip bulkhead wall. This repair includes 165 linear feet of new sheet pile seawall, repairing 1750 linear feet of bulkhead joints from the water side, removing adjacent concrete slabs behind the bulkhead wall, excavating and pressure grouting behind each wall joint (3800 linear feet), and backfilling and replacing concrete slabs. Plan to issue solicitation package on or before May 3, 1996.--Magnitude of project is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00.--Period of Performance: 545 days calendar days after notice to proceed. Funds are not currently available for this requirement. Award of a Contract is contingent upon the availability of funding. An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors, potential offerors, and contractors during the preaward and postaward phases of this acquisition -- The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the contracting officer or the selection official, but to communicate concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations of interested parties to the appropriate Government personnel and to work to resolve them -- When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to the source of the concern -- The ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of quotes, the source selection process, or the adjudication of formal contract disputes -- Interested parties are invited to call the installation ombudsman, Mr. J.
