Naval Surface Warfare Center has a requirement for the paint removal,
surface preparation and paint system application for 10 each mobile
maintenance vans. Weight and size create unique problems due to
facility and handling constraints. Each mobile maintenance van weighs
approximately 10,000 lbs. Approximate dimensions are: width 8 ft.,
height 8 ft., depth 20 ft. Tasks to be performed by vendor include (1)
paint removal using plastic media blasting, (2) surface preparation
including sealing all exposed exterior bolt rivet, nut and fraying
surfaces prior to application of coating and, (3) paint system
application. Vendor will be required to utilize MIL-SPEC system
application. Vendor will be required to utilize MIL-SPEC process and
material requirements. The government will provide transportation of
the mobile maintenance vans to and from the vendor's facility
(providing the facility is within a 100 mile radius of Naval Surface
Warfare Center). Any vendor outside of the 100 mile radius will be
responsible for transportation costs. Transportation costs will be
considered when evaluating for award. Evaluation will also take into
consideration the contractor's possession of government furnished
material handling equipment to include jack stands. This procurement
will be awarded utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This
procurement is unrestricted. Request for quote to be issued on or about
