The FDDI concentrator provides a means of connecting single-attach workstations (workstations having only one FDDI post) to the FDDI dual ring backbone. The concentrator shall conform to the ANSI X3T9.5 standard for FDDI local area networks. The concentrator card and the associated node adapter shall conform to VME-6U form factor. Station Management (SMT) software must be provided with the concentrator hardware allowing the concentrator to function as a stand-alone FDDI station. The software shall reside onboard the concentrator or the node adapter board. It is the intent of the government to issue as full and open competition for part numbers listed above, or for EQUIVALENT. The required quantity is for 6 each of the VME Concentrators, and for 3 each of the Adapters and the Backplanes.
