The Air Force Flight Test Center (AFFTC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Loral Test & Information Systems, 15378 Avenue of Sciences, San Diego, CA 92128-3407, unless responses to this synopsis reveal other sources capable of satisfying the requirement. Loral is the only known responsible source to satisfy the agency requirement. The government requires the following Loral Fiber Optic Data Distribution system five (5) each consisting of: Transmitter, input format; 17-bit tag/ 32-bit data parallel, uses 820 nanometer wavelength technology, has a 10 Mhz data transfer rate, capable of 125 Mhz bandwidth, interface for two fiber optic data links. Fiber Optic Cable, Supported fiber sizes, 62.5/125um, 100/400um, 50/125um, and 200um, SMA-905 type connectors, -18.4dB attenuation required between transmitter connector and receiver connector. In-line or Build-out variable attenuator suggested, which is to be supplied as part of the fiber-optic installation. Receiver; Output format, 17-bit tag/ 32-bit data parallel, uses 820 nanometer wavelength technology, has a 10 Mhz data transfer rate, capable of 125 Mhz bandwidth, interface for two fiber optic data links. Required delivery date is 15 days after receipt of purchase order. Contractors capable of meeting the above requirement must submit clear and convincing literature and pricing that demonstrates their ability of meeting the above requirement to Betty Sue Stevenson at fax (805-258-9699).
