A -- LASER IMAGER MEASUREMENT SUPPORT (LIMS) POC Belinda Williams, Contract Specialist, (205) 955-1187, W. L. Schick, Contracting Officer, (205) 955-1187. The U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command, Sensors Directorate, Huntsville, AL, intends to award a sole source contract to Technology Development Corporation (TDC) to continue the current efforts of developing, operating, and maintaining the special purpose laser radar sensor equipment at the Army Missile Optical Range (AMOR) facility. AMOR is a nationally unique target measurement facility capable of simultaneously performing active and passive measurements to support a wide variety of experiments and demonstrations. AMOR is located in building 7768 on Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL. AMOR consists of unique laser radar sensor systems at 10.6 micrometer, 1.06 micrometer, and 0.53 micrometer. Interested sources must be able to operate and maintain the special purpose sensor equipment associated with these systems. They must also provide necessary support equipment that is essential for the successful operation of the facility. Both coherent (heterodyne detection) and incoherent (direct detection) measurements of target signatures are performed. Additional equipment must be fabricated and integrated into AMOR as required, to enhance the capability of the facility. Examples of such equipment include: zoom optical system, real-time laser radar signal processor, sensor environmental chamber, and equipment required to increase the unambiguous measurement range of the sensor systems. Interested companies must show a history of proven experience developing new hardware, such as that described above, for laser radar sensor systems. Companies proposing must be able to provide data reduction and technical analyses of target measurement experiments. This includes routinely providing data validation, digitization, and formatting for distribution and use throughout the laser radar community. Data analyses include doppler signature spectra, range-doppler images, vibrational spectra, range-resolved cross sections, total cross sections, and speckle statistics. Technical analyses include performance analyses, evaluation of discrimination potential, and assessments of optical and conventional radar hardware and their potential roles in strategic defense. This action is not open to allied participation. Written request should be addressed to: U.S. Army Space and Strategic Defense Command, ATTN: CSSD-CM-CT, Belinda Williams, P.O. Box 1500, Huntsville, AL 35807-3801. (0116)
