The Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) intends to contract with Loral Defense Systems - East of Great Neck NY 11020-1696 for TRIDENT I (C4) and TRIDENT II (D5) Navigation Subsystem Technical Engineering and support services. The requirement includes a base year effort with a period of performance of 01 October 1996 through 30 September 1997 and an option year effort with a period of performance of 01 October 1997 through 30 September 1998. Loral Defense Systems - East is the sole designer, developer and producer of the TRIDENT I (C4) and TRIDENT II (D5) Navigation Subsystem and is considered the only source capable of providing these services within existing cost and schedule constraints.
