ACQUISITION STRATEGY CONFERENCE POC: Attn: James G. Katsekis/Lvkb/912-926-6086. WR-ALC/LVKB is conducting an Acquisition Strategy Conference on 13 May 96 to be held in the Distance Learning Center on the third floor of the Air Force Museum at 9:00 a.m. The purpose of this meeting is to provide an opportunity for early industry involvement in the Government's proposed approach for acquiring Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) for the Air Force and Navy - to include tow tractors, buses and multi-stop vans. HEVs are defined as electric vehicles with a secondary power source which can be used to run the vehicle independently or concurrently with the electric source. Possible candidates include, but are not limited to, Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Diesel, and Mogas. The purpose of this acquisition is to demonstrate hybrid technologies for use in commercial and military applications. Formal streamlined source selection procedures will be utilized to select the technologies which provide the best merit, with cost and schedule considered. Multiple contracts for each vehicle are anticipated. Attendance is limited to three persons per contractor. In addition to the group discussion, interested parties will be afforded an opportunity for a one-on-one meeting with the Government Program Team on 14 May 96. These meetings will be limited to 30 minutes per contractor. These individual meetings must be requested no later than close of business 07 May 96. To be eligible for the individual meetings you must attend the group forum. The purpose of this acquisition strategy conference is not to obtain proposals and is solely to offer early industry involvement in a contemplated Air Force/Navy acquisition. Attendance does not guarantee that any offerors will be considered for award if a solicitation results. Accordingly, the Government is under no obligation to reimburse any source for attendance at this meeting or for any bid and/or proposal costs incurred in preparation of same.
