The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in Menlo Park, California, intends to place on a sole source basis a purchase order with the University of California, Department of Earth Sciences in Riverside, CA for digital geologic maps that are in support of OFA obligations of the Southern California Area Mapping Project (SCAMP). The vendor has (1) experience in the geology of the Eastern San Gabriel Mountains, San Bernardino Basin Area, and March Air Force Base Area; (2) flexibility to modify maps; (3) ability to interact, in real-time with SCAMP Center located on the Campus of University of California, Riverside, California; (4) extensive experience in compiling and editing in ARC/INFO and (5) experience in merging of raster and vector map data. The headquarters of SCAMP is located within the Dept. of Earth Sciences, University of California, Riverside, CA. The department has a GIS lab running ARC/INFO with all necessary resources to produce products. Also within the Dept are employees with the required ARC/INFO and geologic background to produce maps. The work will require relatively continuous interaction between map production and the Project Chief of SCAMP. No RFQ will be issued for this solicitation. (115)
