The work includes Renovation of Building 250: First floor (approximately 42,700 SF) - phased construction of administration spaces (approximately 10,800 SF), and bio-medical repair shop (approximately 5,000 SF); reconfigure the remaining area as warehouse storage. Install exterior windows on the west side of the building. Construct handicap ramps on the east and west sides of the building. Construct a loading dock between Buildings 249 and 250. Second floor - phased renovation of existing administration space (approximately 15,700 SF). Renovation of Building 249: Remove brick facade, extend foundation, and construct new facade with brick and precast concrete elements (approximately 14,700 SF of surface area). Demolish portion of the building to construct approximately 1,000 SF of playground area. Renovate approximately 5,800 of existing administration area to child care facility with a light duty catering kitchen. Miscellaneous site work includes removal and relocation of underground steam line, construction of outside playground area and sidewalk, and incidental related work. Plans and Specifications will be available on or about MAY 13, 1996. A limited number of bid packages will be available and issued on a first come first serve basis.
