The Naval Sea Systems Command plans to procure MK 46 Torpedo support, services and associated data under basic ordering agreement N00024-96-G-6110 from Alliant Techsystems Inc., Marine Systems Division - West, 6500 Harbor Heights Parkway, Mukilte, Washington. The contractor shall provide the following for the MK46 Torpdo: preliminary change proposals; engineering change proposals; depot level repair and refurbishment; major componnents; support equipment and parts; field service support personnel to assist in the installation and checkout of reworked, changed or new parts/components; engineering services in the form of assistance in the evaluation and investigation of problems; enhancements to performance, and development of recomendations concerning corrective action measures. Alliant is the sole developer and producer of the MK 46 Torpedo. They are the only firm with the knowledge and technical expertise required to provide this requirement. See Numbered Note(s): 22.
