FEEDERS AND ROTARY AIRLOCKS SOL RFP-3589-15. POC Brian L. Claytor,
(314) 441-8086, extension 3703. Qualified Sources Sought, SOL RFP
3589-15. MK Ferguson Company (MK-F), is currently performing work under
a Department of Energy Prime Contract at the Weldon Spring Site
Remedial Action Project (WSSRAP) located in St. Charles, Missouri.
Qualified sources are being sought for the supply of a Blending
Conveyor, Weigh Feeders and Rotary Airlocks to be used in the
construction of a Chemical Stabilization/Solidification (CSS) Plant.
Interested qualified parties should have the ability to provide
equipment in compliance with design/hard specifications and stringent
quality control procedures. Following is a brief description of the
equipment anticipated to be required under the procurement action.
BLENDING CONVEYOR, WEIGH FEEDERS, ROTARY AIRLOCKS: This is a
procurement for one (1) blending conveyor, four (4) belt type weigh
feeders, and eight (8) rotary airlocks, all electric motor driven. The
blending conveyor will dry-blend 60-percent class C fly ash and
40-percent Portland cement into binder prior to mixing with sludge to
form grout-like material. The combined binder feed rate will be about
40 tons per hour. Nominal 98-percent blending efficiency is desired.
Unit estimated length is about 25 feet and will be inclined against the
direction of flow about 20-degrees and require top feed at lower end
and bottom discharge on elevated end. Materials of construction are
mild steel. Unit is to be totally enclosed for dust control and for
outdoor installation and use. The belt type weigh feeders will handle
class C fly ash and/or Portland cement. Each unit estimated length is
about 13 feet. Capacities will vary between 10 and 25 tons per hour.
Materials of construction are mild steel. Units are enclosed for dust
control and outdoor installation and use. Accuracy required is
1-percent or better. The rotary airlocks are required in sizes 6-inch
through 14-inch to handle class C fly ash and/or Portland cement,
either separately or in combination. Four (4) are constant speed and
four (4) must be suitable for application with variable frequency speed
controls. All units must be 8-vane minimum, with closed end wheels, and
have round flanged inlet and outlet connections. Units must be suitable
for outdoor installation and use. Estimated magnitude of this
procurement is between $100K and $250K (SIC CODE 3599). Suppliers
interested in the above noted equipment package should submit, by May
10, 1996, a letter requesting a copy of the proposal package, to:
