MK Ferguson Company (MK-F), is currently performing work under a Department of Energy Prime Contract at the Weldon Spring Site Remedial Action Project (WSSRAP) located in St. Charles, Missouri. Qualified sources are being sought for the supply of a Sludge Thickener Rake Mechanism and Preliminary Design Input for a Thickener Tank to be used in the construction of a Chemical Stabilization/Solidification (CSS) Plant. Interested qualified parties should have the ability to provide equipment in compliance with design/hard specifications and stringent quality control procedures. Following is a brief description of the equipment anticipated to be required under the procurement action. SLUDGE THICKENER RAKE MECHANISM AND PRELIMINARY DESIGN INPUT FOR A THICKENER TANK: This is a procurement for a thickener rake and preliminary design input for the accompanying tank. One (1) nominal 50-foot diameter gravity thickener to dewater dilute thixotropic sludge. Feed rate is about 900 GPM at 8-percent solids content. Solids are 100 percent minus 4 mesh and 92-percent minus 100 mesh. Dewatered sludge is 25 to 30 percent solids. Procurement is for thickener rake mechanism with electric motor powered drive, lifting mechanisms, feed well, operating and control systems, and support bridge to span full diameter of tank, with integral walkway for access and support of drive and lifting mechanisms. Procurement also includes preliminary design input for the above ground, leg supported tank, with launders and related operating mechanisms. Thickener will be outdoors. Tank components and fabrication are not part of this procurement. Estimated magnitude of this procurement is between $100K and $250K (SIC CODE 3532).
