The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, St. Inigoes, MD., has a requirement for Communications Headsets (maximum quantity of 718 each). The system required is a modified version of a DH-132 style communications headset. This communications headset is required for use in a severe marine environment onboard various U.S. Navy high speed combatant craft. The communications helmet design shall provide sound attenuation adn intelligibility in a high noise marine environment by allowing the wearer to properly position the earcups of the communications kit verica\cally and horizontally with the appropriate tensioning while providing comfort and stability. The communications headset shall be stable in mechanical construction, electrical characteristics, and acoustical performance. The communications headset shall utilize and be fabricated from materials which do not change their properties appreciably due to aging. An indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity type contract on a firm fixed price basis is anticipated, with a total term of three years from date of award. Items ordered shall be delivered within 90 days after date of order. Deliveries will be made to the Receiving Officer, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, MD.
