The Federal Bureau of Prisons, Western Regional Office has a requirement for qualified organization capable of providing medical services. The services include essential medical, dental and mental health services to Federal Offenders committed to the care of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Metropolitan Detention Center, 535 N. Alameda Street, Los Angeles, California 90012. The Metropolitan Detention Center, Los Angeles houses detainees, newly committed pre-trail detainees, and sentenced inmates with different security levels. The Metropolitan Detention Center houses an average of 950 detainees at any point in time. The average number of female detainees is 40-50. The approximate turnover rate is 30,000 detainee a year. The median age of the population is 30 years old. Thirty to thirty-five% of inmate population are followed-up in the Outpatient Clinic. The essential health services include the following; inpatient/outpatient hospital services; inpatient/outpatient physician services includes but is not limited to (i.e. Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Nephrology, Gastroenterology, Pathology, Anesthesiology, Internal Medicine, Oral Surgery, Psychiatry, Cardiology and Neurosurgery) and outpatient institution services. The anticipated period of this contract performance is: Base Year: Date of Award through 12 months; Option Period #1; 13 months from date of award through 24 months from date of award; Option Period #2; 25 months from date of award through 36 months from award date; Option Period #3; 37 months from date of award through 48 months from award date; Option Period #4; 49 months from date of award through 60 months from award date. Location of the contact facility shall be no less than three miles, but no more than five miles from the Metropolitan Detention Center.
