This action provides for additional support related to the design of SEAWOLF Class nuclear attack submarines now being performed by Newport News Shipbuilding as the Lead Design Yard (LDY) and Electric Boat Corporation as the Participating Design Yard (PDY) under Contract N00024-87-C-2046. Solicitation N00024-96-R-2116 will be issued to Newport News Shipbuilding, 4101 Washington Avenue, Newport News, VA 23607 who will subcontract with Electric Boat Corporation, 75 Eastern Point Road, Groton, CT 06340 for a continuation of PDY services since these are the only two firms engaged in the design and construction of nuclear attack submarines.
