Traylor/Pkwrs/513-257-6721 Period of performance is 01 Oct 96 thru 30 Sep 97. Four one-year options may be awarded. Lease of approximately 279 radio pagers. This synopsis is for commercial items in accordance with FAR Part 12. The Contractor shall provide commercially produced and sold items. Contract additions may be expected to allow for substitution and/or technology refreshment. The Contractor shall provide pagers and service on digital display pagers. The pagers shall have the capability to receive and store a minimum of three (3) messages and be equipped with silent (vibrate) and audible (tone) message notification. The contractor shall provide service (access line). The coverage area of this service must provide for signal penetration of facilities on WPAFB. Two areas of coverage are required: (1) Statewide (State of Ohio); (2) All metropolitan areas of the continental United States. Basic and enhanced pagers will be available for both areas of coverage. The contractor shall provide all maintenance service on inoperative pagers at no additional cost to the government. The contractor shall respond to all authorized requests for maintenance with one (1) workday. The contractor shall provide a replacement pager, preprogrammed with the number of the inoperative unit, at the time of response to the service request. The replacement shall be of no additional cost to the government. As a result of analyzing responses to this synopsis of intent, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to all firms that respond in writing to this synopsis of intent. The approximate issue/response date will be 15 May 96. No telephone requests. Only written or faxed requests received directly from the requestor are acceptable. All responsible sources solicited may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered. An Ombudsman has been established for this acquisition. The only purpose of the Ombudsman is to receive and communicate serious concerns from potential offerors when an offeror prefers not to use established channels to communicate his/her concern during the proposal development phase of this acquisition. Potential offerors should use established channels to request information, pose questions, and voice concerns before resorting to use of the Ombudsman.
