O'Callahan, SUSD, SSB (508) 233-4237 (Site Code DAAK60) The U.S. Army
Natick Research, Development and Engineering Center has a requirement
for modular flooring to be used with army tents and staging bases.
There are two types of flooring required: one which is for short term
applications (possibly a geosynthetic semi-permeable or impervious
membrane that can be deployed quickly and directly onto muddy, wet or
snowy ground), the other type is more of a long term solution for base
camps. They shall support a minimum of 25 lb/sq/ft load. This
requirement will vary depending on the application. It could be as high
as 65 lb/sq/ft. The preferred design is a metal frame stucture, with
the option of using plywood panel and/or other material for decking.
The components must be resistant to the effects of snow, rain, wind and
corrosion and have a long storage life. The flooring should be easy to
deploy with the use of no minimum tools. Send information about your
company and product to Janet O'Callahan at the address above. This
