Agriculture, Food and Consumer Service (FCS), plans to award a contract
for ''Tracking Nutrition Security Changes: State Choices and the
National Food Stamp Program''. The purpose of the contract is to obtain
technical and administrative support for collecting data from States on
their Food Stamp Program reform activity, summarizing and synthesizing
these data, and assessing the implications of State variation for a
national Food Stamp Program. FCS anticipates that the contract will
require expertise in data collection, synthesis, and presentation and
in analytical thinking and writing. Knowledge of the Food Stamp Program
and State welfare reform efforts is highly desirable. The estimated
duration of this contract is 23 months. The estimated level of effort
is approximately 1.73 professional person years. Offers will be due on
or about June 14, 1996. All qualified organizations interested in
receiving a copy of the Request for Proposal when it is issued MUST
submit their request in writing and MUST include four (4)
