The Naval Research Laboratory has a requirement to design, test, and develop a muzzle flash locator. The Contractor shall apply electro-optic research and development to the problem of detecting and countering military threats, with an emphasis on threats posed by small and large bore weapons such as rifles, artillery, and air defense artillery. Areas of research consist of Muzzle Blast Phenomena, Sensor Technology, Optical Design, Data Collection and Analysis, Automatic Target Recognition Algorithms, Technology Analysis, and Technology Demonstration and Prototype Systems. A detailed statement of work will be issued with the Solicitation. The period of performance will be for a Base Year of 12 months with four (4) option periods of 12 months each.
