The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Mitretek Systems of McLean, VA to continue providing a range of technical and engineering support services currently being provided to Treasury under IRS Contract No. Tir-95-0030. Such services will consist of the necessary postaward acquisition support as required in connection with the Treasury Communications System. The period of performance shall be from date of award through September 30, 1996, with one option year. The IRS anticipates awarding a contract on or about July 30, 1996. The nature of the work requires a contractor with freedom from actual or potential conflict of interest, knowledge in the field of telecommunications especially knowledge of the Treasury's communications and networking environment, Government Telecommunications services and systems including costing and pricing of such services, and no engagement in any business activity which could make the contractor appear unsuitable for having access to Treasury plans, standards, methodologies, acquisition, and vendor proprietary information. No contract award will be made on the basis of any response to this notice since the synopsis of intent is not considered a solicitation document. Interested firms must submit information and data that is sufficient for the Government to make a capability determination against the required support as synopsized herein. No solicitation documents are available and oral requests for same will not be considered.
