FL 32407-7001 58 -- INERTIAL MEASUREMENT UNITS SOL N61331-96-R-0036 DUE 060196 POC
Joyce Richardson, Contract Specialist, (904)234-4302 Carol A. Dreger,
Contracting Officer, (904)234-4863. The Coastal Systems Station
Dahlgren Division, NSWC, intends to procure three (3) commercial
off-the-shelf Inertial Measurement (Navigation) Units (IMU). Units may
require modification to meet the specified data communications
(interface) requirements, and to provide for mounting. These units will
sense and provide three-axis: angular attitude, angular rate, linear
velocity, and linear acceleration. Built-in-Test is also required.
Magnetically based angular measurement sensors will not be considered.
Units must operate on 28VDC +/- 4VDC, drawing not more than 10 watts.
Communications with the control computer will be by a single RS-422
serial communications link. Each unit, including mounting hardware,
must fit within a rectangular volume 5.5'' long by 4.25'' wide by 5.5''
high. Each unit must weigh not more than two (2) pounds. Performance
characteristics must be consistent with operational dynamics of: roll
angles +/- 360 degrees; roll angle rate 60 degrees per second; pitch
angles +/- 90 degrees; pitch angle rate 30 degrees per second; yaw
angles +/- 360 degrees; yaw angle rate 30 degrees per second; linear
velocities 50.4 feet per second horizontal and 20 feet per second
vertical; linear acceleration 3.0 gravities horizontal and vertical.
Operating environment is: -4 degrees C to +55 degrees C; 0 to 95%
humidity (non-condensing); pressure 0 to 15 psig, 100% nitrogen; up to
18g RMS vibration. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated; options
may be included for from one to five additional units over the next two
fiscal years. Note 26. (0122) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0203 19960502\58-0002.SOL)
